Charanjit Singh Jolly is a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with a strong interest in Data Science. He has been self-learning about data science through online resources and is now seeking an opportunity for an internship or full-time position after July 2021. Currently, Charanjit is pursuing his MSc thesis at Budapest University of Technology and Economics on the Detection and Classification of unbalance faults using Machine Learning. He is responsible for developing a software tool for the calculation of Remaining Useful Life of machine tool components based on a methodology developed at BME under EU project called ProgRAMS. His work involves pre-processing of raw datasets, noise removal with signal processing, statistical analysis of data, analysis of data within time and frequency domain, extraction of features from data, modelling using machine learning, and visualization of plots and results using Python. Charanjit has also developed a technique using Convolutional Neural Networks to perform the same classification task to significantly reduce the need for data preprocessing and feature extraction. Prior to his current role, Charanjit worked as an Operations Support Trainee at Avis Budget Group and as an Intern in Business Development (Sales) at Unacademy. He was responsible for handling car rental contracts, contacting customers over the phone, and maintaining databases of educators respectively. Charanjit has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and is expected to complete his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2021. He is skilled in ML, Data Science, Python, Pandas, Neural Networks, and research. Charanjit is looking for an opportunity to apply his knowledge and skills in data science to solve real-world problems.
